Got a speeding ticket (from a state trooper) that I want to keep off of my record. Should I plead guilty and ask for an 894 or not guilty and take my chances in traffic court?

Is it still possible to get it reduced in traffic court or if you loss, you're SOL?

TIA

City attorney will likely reduce it to a non-moving violation if you plead guilty - fine will be about a hundred bucks and it won't get sent to your insurance company.

Overpay the fine by $10. Never cash the check they send you. Ticket will never close and therefore never show up on your record.

The cashier at Burger King told me this. Can’t wait to try it out. Makes perfect sense.

They'll line you up and call you in an office in the back. Ask the city atty for a non-moving. They'll give it to you.

I would just call them and ask if there is a way that you can go to driving school or something like that to keep it off your record...I have been fairly successful in doing this. most jurisdictions will charge you a few bucks over the normal ticket cost and out it goes.

fwiw, it may be pretty comical to see what goes on in NO traffic court, though.
