She committed business suicide.

She’s been there long enough to not buck the system in a small rural town.

That area is real tight knit, and if you aren’t from that area, or have a “Pointe Coupee” last name, you are and always will be an outsider. Black or white, race doesn’t matter…..Majority of the white and black folks are related to each other way down the line, due to the “history” of the area going back….

She hadn’t realize it’s the hand full of “pointe Coupee” families that:

Own all the buildings
Own mass majority of the lands
Run law enforcement
Run the courts
Run all the businesses
Run the schools (public and private)

It’s been like that for multi-generations pre-civil war.

If “Pointe Coupee” wants you gone, you will be gone….

It seems like it was failing before their Tranny events.

Instead of sitting down and asking themselves what brings people to the other restaurants.
Who’s our market?
What can we take from the successful businesses and add something different?

They threw a Hail Mary pass and failed.

Probably not a Hail Mary.

More like now she can cry about how her successful business got canceled by evil transphobic redneck bigots, so she needs a Go Fund Me to make her whole.

Not sure where you’re seeing the owner had “shows”. Sounds like it was a one time deal.
2 shows in 1 day!

The fact there's a gofundme for reopening elsewhere instead of hiring a lawyer to sue the shite out of the landlord tells me there's a lot more to this story.

Her lease was up and the landlord didn't renew.

Not sure what legal grounds she would have to go after him...

She might be on shaky ground right now with the landlord; seeing as how she's inferring in public that they sabotaged her restaurant by shutting off the A/C.

The plot thickens.

Allegedly SSB restaurant was habitually late on rent and damaged the HVAC system. And refused to renew a lease despite a very small increase in rates (less than market average most likely given what’s happened with real estate over the past 2 years).

Like a lot of you suggested - the restaurant owner may be lying about some things to harvest some sympathy from the LGBT community and boost her GoFundMe. SSB gets the revenue from the tickets and drinks for the sold out drag show….but South Louisiana and New Roads gets “dragged” through the mud unfairly for all of this.

The drag show isn’t what did it either. Hell it sold out and was a clear success.

What is hurting her is airing that dirty laundry to outsiders and the media.

This is a blatant attempt to stir up false controversy as a money grab. My initial reaction was disgust. However, upon further reflection, I realized that the only people who would voluntarily donate money to the restaurant owner are extremely and dangerously gullible and/or woke crusaders - either way, I'm kind of happy to see them throw their money away. Now I am just jealous that I didn't think of it first.

I’m actually kind of impressed. She’s taking advantage of woke idiots who are prejudice against Louisiana.

Maybe she’s not as dumb as you all think?
