You are a dumb frick if you take any of this literally. Are you even from Louisiana? Everyone on this thread is generalizing, including me. Then there is always a dumbass like you that is too stupid to understand this, and will make a comment like this. I find this to be common in northerners. They lack communication skills.

The only union members that are getting underpaid are the ones here
Dude, the union members wouldn't go to for $200 an hour because it was non union. Now, a client who has a plant in MS has no problems getting union members to work in his plant because he pays more and benefits are better. He's pretty happy about the port strike not lasting due almost all of their product is exported overseas. The same goes for their plant near Duluth, MN.
You must be a union member.

I'm not quite sure I understand what you are trying to say.
I'm not a union member. I briefly joined, but I left because they had no work around here, just like I said. The few jobs that the unions have around here were paying $10.00 an hour less than non union. The unions around here are so infiltrated/sabotaged that they don't have any interest in unionizing any other businesses, or bringing in new members. In 30 years of working in local industry, I have never seen a company vote in a union. They have only voted out the existing unions. That proves that some unseen force is working against the unions. Why else would workers be anti union, and not want their interest protected? It's not hard to deceive and manipulate the ignorant people in Louisiana to vote a particular way even if it goes against their own interest. Otherwise, Edwin Edwards (and Bel Edwards) would have never been elected! (who would continue to vote for a four times indicted criminal working with the mob? Although, maybe the other politicians never got caught.)
The past 30 years of working in industry in Louisiana has been a nightmare, and so will the next 30 years for Gen Z, if something doesn't change. Gen V was retiring when I first started in industry, and they told me that I would not have ANYTHING when I get older because of the destruction of unions (because of 'Right to Work' bill), and they were correct. Most my age have no pension or even stable employment, and have watched conditions get progressively worse for the working class.
Industry in Louisiana is always 'feast and famine.' We depend on unemployment to get us through those times when we are laid off. Yet, the unemployment hasn't even gone up with inflation. Its $275 a week in Louisiana, yet in Texas, its $577 a week. Why is this? Its so low in Louisiana that most people don't even bother filing because its not worth the headache. Now they have even cut back the number of weeks that you can file, starting at the beginning of next year. It's not the employee's fault that he was laid off. Employers will often try to fire employees for some ridiculous reason, instead of giving him a 'reduction of force' (layoff) to make it more difficult and slow down the process of him getting this small amount of money. Everything about working in this state is a screwed-up. The corporations want nobody telling them what to do, regardless of how unethical, unsafe, or wrong it may be. Any complaints to management, OSHA, attorneys, or even politicians are ignored. I don't know why people still waste their time voting.
I've seen career counselors and people who work in schools try to direct people in this direction, and then people realize afterwards that it was a mistake. The only advice that I have for Gen Z is to believe nothing you hear or read when it comes to career paths. Its written by people that don't know WTF they are talking about. If you aren't kin to somebody high up, you aren't likely going to do well.

lol born and raised in BR off south foster and went to LSU. Anecdotal hyperbole is one of the worst generalizations you can make in informed discourse, so your communication skills seem to be lacking in my opinion.
But regardless, it just gets tiresome to be a millennial who got a degree that’s useful, bought a house with my wife after saving up, paid off my student loans, work hard and have moved up, and work at a company where the vast majority of engineers and developers are millennial/Gen Z and they work their asses off just for angry middle managers to clutter up the feed with these ridiculous claims constantly.

I've read a lot of books on the 15th century and they went through several consecutive decades where people barely worked. They did just enough to get food and have shelter. There was a lot of lesbianism during those times as well. 1 in 3 women were lesbians. 1 in 2 were bi. But it was completely frowned upon for men to be gay.
Most weapons were made out of fish bones because it was a lot easier to get a fish than it was to go hunt any type of big game. The art of starting fires were almost lost during this time because they preferred to eat raw food and stay cold than put work in to start a fire.

Then why are you posting on this thread? It is about generalizations. I assume that you are black, if you were raised on S. Foster. (I should have known) That would explain your sensitivity. Are you afraid that people will say the same about blacks being lazy, useless, or getting their jobs from affirmative action?
I want to make this clear. The only reason you (and most successful blacks) got where you are today is because of affirmative action programs, and from politicians pandering to minorities. You can deny this as much as you want, but it still won't change that fact. This thread is for people (white Gen Z) that aren't entitled, and don't have kin folks to get them a job through nepotism. It is disgusting to see what you have stole or gotten free, and still have the nerve to want to contribute to a thread like this. It is also disgusting to see what blacks have done to the city of Baton Rouge. The LAST PEOPLE that white Gen Z need to be listening to would be somebody like you. You have nothing to teach these people. You claim to be successful, yet you (and many other blacks) are still playing the victim card.

I’m so glad you just typed out a ridiculous diatribe assuming I’m a black dude from Richland Ave when I’m white as shite
. Holy hell, you must be the dumbest person I’ve interacted with in a hot minute

OP commutes an hour and a half, one way, every day and gets shite on all day at his “arse in seats” job and has no leverage to change it so he jealously shits on people able to work remotely.
Pathetic.

I think you are just a kid posting bullshite, and not an engineer. The fact that you don't know S. Foster is in the ghetto proves this. I can't picture a white engineer living there. Every forum has trolls disrupting it with bullshite, lies, and propaganda. You probably really are a douchbag from the northeast, like I origanly guessed. We don't say stuff like that down her. WTF is a drool cup?
Many forums are trolled by intelligence agencies, NSA, and groups like that and they overload it with propaganda. They ruin almost every forum. Reddit is a good example.
