I haven’t noticed an uptick in those people at Whole Foods/Fresh Market compared to at Walmart/Target. I’d argue that the people who shop at the higher end grocery stores are more likely to go inside and pick out their own items. Why pay a premium if you don’t get the experience or choice of your fresh goods, which is the main product type people are shopping for

Keep hoping they build one closer to my house. Love some Fresh Market here but it’s about a 30 minute drive and that’s if I-64 isn’t a shitshow. Steaks are almost always on sale on Fridays too.
I will say contrary to OP, the Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s over here stays stupid packed. And I avoid them like the plague as a result.
