It’s the Coddling of the American Mind. It’s a great read.

I always heard about what happened to him over there but holy shite to see video of it is a different story. This is what’s wrong with America right now. I could never imagine myself acting like that.

What happened was insane and few people heard about it.

It's definitely affected the school. Enrollment is way down since that happened.

bump.

thanks for the linkage Oweo. I watched all the episodes last night. Pretty terrifying, mainly because we are now watching this play out across the country and the media and some politicians placate it instead of shut it down or poke holes in it.

What I kept personally key’ing in on was this new President of Evergreen. Was what happened his intention? They briefly touched on in the 1st episode how he may have felt that faculty had too much power at the university instead of the administration. Was this his plan? And after it continued to devolve - he told the campus police to stand down? Why wasn’t he run off campus by the university’s board? I don’t understand how anyone could believe letting it go as far as it did was in any way beneficial for the university.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like when we let some of these fringe activists push and change policy/opinion slowly over time and a portion of the country sympathizes with it and in the end normalizes it - we are only inviting what happened at Evergreen to happen nationwide?

Is that the guy that wrote about rape culture amongst male dogs in the suburban dog parks around Seattle? Didn’t he claim some ungodly number of hours spent observing the behavior hoping it would get caught and called out but instead he won an award for it I think.

Yes! Grievance studies affair is what it's called. They wrote another one about fat body building
