ER/urgent care... it’s not as bad as the media makes it out to be unless you’re very old or have lots of medical problems... even a young asthmatic should be fine. But recommend going to ER for any breathing problems, had + patients at UC with bad pneumonia but they wouldn’t admit them unless their oxygen wasnt less than 90.... it is crazy, but I’ve been exposed so many times and healthy... y’all can do the same.... if your exposed, I would rec not getting tested unless work requires it or you feel different, but you could be Negative one day and positive the next day and you don’t know if insurance is going to pay for multiple tests.... just listen to your body. I read an article where one patient got charged elsewhere for 6k+ and his buddy at same visit payed 199 for same test... get a portable pulsoximeter And monitor oxygen... seek medical Attention if you feel worse
And monitor oxygen

Thank you for the info. I've heard the throat swab is pretty much similar to getting test for strep, did you find that to be accurate? From your child's experience with it do you think the throat swab is less uncomfortable compared to the nasal swab?

I honestly have Never heard of a throat swab, Prove me wrong but I just follow protocol... we’ve only done nasal swabs as far as you can go...I think that must Have been a nurse who doesn’t want to hurt a kid and could have been less reliable test. If no smell or taste get retested

You're a health professional and you are actively telling people who have been directly exposed to the virus, not to get tested? Let me know what hospital you work at.

That’s how they were doing them at that urgent care. Came back positive, two of her friends she had had been around tested positive and all had the smell/ taste loss.

I’ve been directly exposed for 4 months straight and never been tested, tell me what you’re qualifications are.... I haven’t been sick and if there are none of me putting ourselves at risk then you pansies can’t get swabbed when you’re cousin or co-worker tested +.... again I was exposed 6 times Wednesday where I am examine thier ears, throat, lungs, etc... seems like you’ve done none of that and I’ve been doing same thing for 4 months, you can read my past posts, exposed 3 times a week in ER/urgent care every shift and have not felt need to get tested... and I use reused masks because I can’t get a n-95 mask or enough masks to cover me from all the exposures, so you can kiss my arse

Are you a general practitioner or an ER doctor?

How do you know you were exposed 6 times?

Yeah cause we don’t want to deal with people who are not sick.... wasting our time and your money... which could be a lot of money. People complain about their bills because they were exposed to Covid but no symptoms but want the rapid test.... So if you have been exposed and don’t have symptoms then you probably don’t need to get tested right away Like everybody is doing...unless you start feeling weird.

Because our rapid test comes back in 15 min and I saw 68 patients by myself in 12 hours and 6 were positive, could have been more more false negatives but people don’t want to wait up to a week for the PCR test which we didn’t even have... what’s your deal?

I don't have a deal, I just don't think it's a good idea for a medical professional, such as yourself, to tell people who have been directly exposed, not to get tested

Only symptoms she had was loss of taste and smell.

Was that because of covid or the throat swab?

BecUse they are always negative except 1 that I’ve had out of several hundred. Clogging up the medical system, a guy died the other day because he probably couldn’t be seen right away because the place was full and everyone wants a Covid swab with no symptoms and there is never enough medical staff

Why have I never been tested Or quarantined in 4 months after exposure every shift... because I’ve felt fine... I’m doing no harm to myself or patients and I wear a damn mask/wash my hands like the cdc says.... if you think I like coming home possibly exposing my wife and 4/7 year old kids from this crap 3 days a week then you’re the sick one
