It works if you follow the diet.

When it doesn't work it means the person is cheating.

You supplement part of the meal with your own fruit and veggies. So it isn't exactly as no brainier as it sounds.

Just eat 1500 calories per day and you'll lose. You don't need any bullshite gimmick diet.

Try Blue Apron, Plated, Home Chef or Hello Fresh. All deliver fresh ingredients to cook. I use Home Chef because I liked the options better. Menus are great and all you need at home is hardware, olive oil, S&P.

Yep and I lost 30lbs on it.

I don't necessarily need to lose weight but it seems to be a very convenient and healthy way to eat dinner each night.

I hate eating out but I also hate to go to the grocery and figure out what to cook each night for dinner.

Nutrisystem basically takes the hassle out of going to the grocery store.

Has anyone tried it? If so, how was the food?

1. You still have to go to the grocery store, but you just have to get side items to supplement it (i.e salad or apple to go along with your nutrisystem dinner). It gives a list of approved things and gives suggestions for each meal.
2. The food is just like lean cuisine or any other frozen food, and the non frozen stuff is ok, but nothing to write home about. You can make your own nutrisystem by going to the store and just getting lean cuisine type food, but having it shipped to your door is awesome.
3. If you are just wanting to maintain your weight, don't do nutrisystem. It is designed so you eat 500-700 calories a day less than you burn. So you will lose weight or have to double up which makes it more expensive. If you want to maintain your weight without having to cook, just go to the store and buy frozen dinners and exercise. It will be alot easier and cheaper than nutrisystem. Nutrisystem is only worth the $$$ if you are busy like I was and need to lose more than 20lbs.

I must spend more on groceries than the average person because I'm not seeing why so many people think Nutrisystem is expensive.

The basic plan is $270 (actually $250 with the $20 off coupon on their site) for 4 meals a day for an entire 4 weeks.

I spend way more than that per month on food.

Woah. Folks we have a bad arse here. Say that to my face and my morbidly fat arse would trip and fall on your skinny and I would not get up until your skinny arse face would turn to liquid.

What a fricking douchebag.

One of my co-workers is currently on it and has been on it for about a year. He is pretty strict about it because he has incorporated ZERO exercise (wife also a physician and he has 3 kids under 3, including twins so he has no time). He has lot a pretty large amount of weight

All diets work, for a while

Counting calories and gimmicks are not SUSTAINABLE

The man who understands principles will have many applications at his disposal. The man who only understands applications is much more limited.

If you want to understand the principles of how to feed, rest, and train the human body properly to maintain health, read this book.

It should be madatory reading for humans...

There are plenty of startups out there now that will send you the ingredients for several fresh meals a week. This is vastly superior to garbage like NS.

Try something like Home Chef

okay if you stick to it, but it's expensive. There is no magic bullet to healthy weight loss other than eating in moderation and exercise.

Sure there is: Carb restriction.

And Sinbad had a funny bit about Nutrisystem. It works because you get too little food, then you go broke and can't afford food.

I can't believe that I got 4 downvotes for trying to give you a little pep talk and get you started in the right direction on your weight loss journey. You can't help some people.
