but he kind of just fricking rambles. It's interesting rambling and as a rambling man I'm all about it, but i can understand how he wouldn't be for everyone.
For me, I think his speaking cadence is what makes him hard for me to listen to for more than ten minutes at a time.
Also, when he’s rambling he tends to start whispering so I have to turn the volume up to 30 in my car to hear anything he’s saying. THEN OUT OF NOWHERE HE’S REALLY LOUD and I have to turn the volume down as quickly as possible. Doing that over and over again becomes tiring.

Here's a photo of Eugene Sledge (L) and his high school friend Sidney Phillips. It was taken in 1942 when Phillips returned from MC boot camp to visit home in Mobile. Sledge was still in school. They both went to Murphy HS where Phillip's father was principal.
When Sledge told Phillips that he wanted to join the Marine Corps too, Phillips famously told him, "You'll be sorry!".

quote:Thanks for sharing! The hardcore history episode was great, but Jocko’s podcast blew it out of the water. It was phenomenal and one of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to!
Jocko Podcast 491 had him on too. Very good listen

That’s awesome Darth! I’ve been searching online and Facebook looking for dates Mr. Henry will do book signings. I want to buy the book, take a picture, and ask him a few questions. Andrea Sledge posts a lot about his book and gave a few places he would sign in Alabama and Texas, but hasn’t finalized dates yet. I’m going to keep up with her on FB, but could you let me know if you hear of anything?

I’m going to get “raped over at Kohl’s” for this, but I find Carlin tough to listen to. I’m not proud of this, btw.
His interview style is tough to listen to, in my opinion. He still has awesome guests and his long form podcasts are always entertaining to me.
