NEW ORLEANS -- A vacant corner on the edge of the French Quarter could soon get new life as a sleek, modern hotel.

Plans call for the corner of Canal and North Rampart streets to become an 18-story Hard Rock Hotel. It is slated to open in spring 2019. The hotel will have 350 rooms, and there will also be 62 one-, two- and three-bedroom condominiums

Thats funny because Harrah's just announced yesterday

They better budget for a shite load of security if they're going to build on the borderline of the projects

Isn't this the site that has been an eye sore and vacant the past 3 years or so?

They have had the permit to build for at least as long and have been blocking the sidewalk with not a damn thing going on. Sounds more like skirting property taxes for another few years.

That’s a really good location, huge block next door to the ritz and by the theatres. I’m surprised no one has made a move on property sooner.

But this board says that no one wants to visit New Orleans anymore. I'm glad this city is not ran by plant operators from Livingston Parish.

We'll have to check to see if this is considered trashy or not.

Is the WTC still targeted for a Four Seasons? That’s more my speed.
