Feast on the last day before lent. Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) is your last chance at glutinous behavior before the glorious event that is Easter Sunday. The best thing is the anticipation of whether or not the GBFTL leads Rex. When they do it’s the icing on the king cake.

Bourbon always tends to be light in the day since the parades don't go down there, but after the parades are over or at least the first two, people who like the Bourbon St. atmosphere kind of thing tend to head that way and it gets heavy in the evening. A lot of people hang in the Marigny now too as opposed to Bourbon.
