If you do just think of the money your family would make.

Protesting and collecting government checks.

Sure, but what if it's a liberal that kills me? Then there's nothing.

Say you're a confederate statue, the city gov't will take you down, and your family will get a ton of money in a lawsuit.

They closed down Jeff Davis, kicked the protestors out, and set up barricades. I heard the city wasn't planning on removing any statues during jazz fest but that sure seems like they are making moves tonight

Is it really 'during Jazz Fest' if it's during the week though?

I honestly can't believe that they are actually coming down. I really though it was just an attention grab by Mitch during the whole Dylan Roof situation and that it would blow over and be forgot about. This shite is fricking ridiculous. frick Mitch Landrieu

I was there yesterday, there was maybe 6 people standing around the monument all afternoon. Not sure why you think anything "had to be done," people are allowed to protest

of course, i agree

but this particular situation is getting out of hand so a move needed to be made.

My friend Facebooked live from there for the last hour before the cops were shutting everything down. It looked like a shite show for sure. I'm really shocked that nothing major actually broke out between the 2 groups
