Had some sparklers to light off tonight..

Cleaned out the garage and found a few old boxes of sparklers that have been there forever. I decided to light them all off tonight to finally get rid of them. Started as a joke, but as I was sitting outside quietly lighting them off, I did start thinking about those who have given their lives for this country.

After coming inside and conducting some simple research, I found that I had lit off one sparkler for every 28,571 American soldiers who have died in battle.

Just over 1 million American soldiers have been killed in battle (500K in the civil war alone). Damn!
