Anyone know of someone locally that works on these gates? I'm having trouble getting the GTO arm to operate my metal gate. When I power it on, it just keeps beeping. I have tried changing the battery but that didn't help.

Check for something blocking the sensor after the weather.

What model number do you have?

Edit: Does it respond to the remote or keypad?

Edit 2. Try this LINK to trouble shoot

The new XLS versions operate a little differently so look for that manual if that's what you've got. VI had the 2000XL but just installed the 2000XLS version after 12+ years with the old model

See below. Trouble shooting guide suggests ( as poster above suggested) it's sensing an obstruction. Check to be sure any safety sensors didn't get misaligned or that the arm isn't binding in any way.

The help desk listed below assisted me with identifiing a problem and mailing me the part. It's all low voltage so very straightforward(and safe) to troubleshoot or replace parts.

Mine was binding one time. Solved it by pulling gate pin and removing arm from gate attachment point. I then turned on and problem was solved. If it's hard to pull pin out of gate bracket, that's probably it. I reattached the arm to gate and didn't have any other issues.

Don't let weight of motor hang on post bracket. Be sure to keep it supported while detached from gate.

Link to the problem I'm having

Here is the link to the problem I'm having. Basically when I turn it on, it has a long beep then pause then long beep and so on.

I just tested both connections and I'm getting 5 volts on both things that they tell you to check.

I'd suggest calling the help desk number. That sounds like the issue they helped me diagnose when my control board went out. Good news is they have very good customer service in my experience.

Also, On their web site they list local dealers. They may be able to help with service if tech line can't figure it out over phone.

Good luck. Give us an update when you resolve.

I buy batteries and parts from Southeast Gate Operators. Off Siegen. Turn by the Mexican joints or the Honda place.

They can prolly fix you up.

It's most likely the Limit Switch. They seem to fail pretty often and are cheap and aren't that hard to replace.
When they fail you get the constant beeping as the control board reads a failure and stops. The frequncy of the beeps actually lets the technician know what is wrong.

Where is the limit switch located and do you know where I can buy a replacement?

Inside the gate arms, and you have to order them, but they are on Amazon Prime. I'm sure a Gate place locally may have them as well.
