My buddy’s wife is from Ecuador and her grandma has a guinea pig farm.
It’s her favorite food and she always talks it up. I was somewhat disappointed that I didn’t get a chance to try it when I went down there with them a few years back.

I ate some fried cuy when I went to peru. It was bad, but it's hard to get past what you're eating
It was also very boney, so that made it even less appetizing
