I remember reading a book about the club fire that describes a scene where the firefighters are standing around shell shocked after hosing down a pile of burning bodies, and Jack Russell comes stumbling out of the darkness with a groupie on one arm and a bottle of liquor in the other and asks them “...d-did everyone make it out okay?”
