Da 40 was in my house 4 times. Flooded 4 times from '78-83. We were one of the first houses to get it on Hermitage. The floods were kind of fun as a kid. Caught lots of snakes when the waters went down. When I was in 6th grade for the first flood, the Holy Cross bus dropped me off in waist deep water by the bridge by Kings Dr. I had to put my book bag on my shoulders and walk from there all the way to the end of Hermitage by Jean Lafitte. I think that would lead to a lawsuit in today's society.
My second (current) wife also lived in Buccaneer. She lived on Prince where it runs into Queens Ct.

My favorite memory was the original Kenilworth park alllll the way down the road. If a game went past 7pm down there you'd get the honor of fighting off pigeon sized mosquitos.

Quite a few good Rebel/Vista games....everybody playing for high school and then joining together for Southeners.

This right here is the TRUTH!!! My son playing ball in Metairie where its all one park playing against one another, just not the same as the Rebel/Vista, hell everyone vs. those Rebel punks rivalries

Rebel had so many teams if was insane. I remember one tournament where we played a rebel team in every round all the way to the championship.

No, but she knows Nicole.

Ok. Nicole knows me very, very well. I literally was at her house all the time. Went out with her friend Ashley for a long while.

My cousins lived on Hermitage off of JL. Good friend Yvette lived off of that corner as well.

I knew her. She used to be fine!

I was in your house before. Probably before you were born. Our parents used to be friends. I used to come over to play with your brother. Your parents ok?
They're still around, living out in Walker now. Thanks for asking.
You still live on Evangeline?

Yeah we got screwed on the back street. I was there for all of them. In fact we got so good at totally picking up the entire house. We threw everything on our bed including desks and drawers, everything off the floor in our closet, buckets under the table legs, used the table chairs to prop up the sofas, rolled up the rugs... boom, like a fire drill. Probably did it about 8 times. Getting woke up in the middle of the night... Pickup, Pickup!!!

Nah, I'm in Covington. My mon lives in Walker too. Dad passed away in '06.

We flooded about three times thru the years. So when Katrina came, I just took the stuff I had on the floor and stuff, and set it on top my bed. I figured that would be ok.
When we were able to come back to see what was left after Katrina I walked to the 2 story next door, and the water line was up at least 3' on the 2nd floor. Unbelievables.
