GRAMBLING, La. (KNOE) - Grambling State University has announced that one of its students is helping to shoot the final season of the Fox show "Empire."

They say Sophomore Kayla Sullers will work with the camera and production teams behind the show.

“From the time Kayla set foot on campus, she has been shining in the classroom,” said Dr. Robbie Morganfield, head of the Department of Mass Communication. “It’s no surprise that she now is positioned to shine beyond it. She is among a cohort of students making phenomenal our new norm, and we’re extremely proud of that.”

The final season of "Empire" is set to air this fall.

Cool. Sounds like a really good opportunity for a film/media student.

Good for her, but you did her a disservice by putting Jussie in there.

Could I be enlightened on something? Is this a thread and the linked article about:
- a paid internship for a student who will be operating a camera?
- a job for a graduate in their field, operating a camera?

Well, good for her! But in either case, is this position prestigious and/or impressive in some way that I am unaware of?

Is it fair to say that thousands of Louisiana college students/graduates obtain jobs of similar or higher noteworthiness than this, annually?

Again, perhaps I missed something.... ??
