Graduation Conduct

My Daughter graduated High School Friday night and before the ceremony started there were explicit instructions to hold all applause and cheers until the end so that everyone got the opportunity to hear their loved one's name called. Well, it didn't take long before you started to hear yelling and cheering.
Our school wasn't so bad (it happened on about 20 or so out of 310) but I heard it was terrible on the other side of the county.
It pissed me off to no end. Am I wrong to get bent out of shape at this trashiness or am I over reacting?

First graduation you've ever attended?

Hold on, other side of the county? You have to elaborate

People are trashy. I went to a middle school band concert a few weeks ago and people were wandering in and out all during the show. Some were wearing what appeared to be pajamas.

Always happens. Usually with certain demographic groups.
Lousy fricking Asians.

Did it sound something like, "we love you Tameka!"?

First one where there were instructions give ahead of time and it still went on.
Our HS was small and other than some golf claps there wasn't much because you ran the risk of getting tossed.
There were papers sent out last year threatening ejection over the matter. I asked a member of the school board at the ball field right after if that kept it down and he said not at all. When I asked why they didn't toss them his response was "it would be a damn riot. And could you imagine the lawsuit".

It is pretty common these days, especially with some folks.
Saw one group who had a kid walk across the stage and when his name was called, they let out bursts of confetti over their entire section (and those around them).
Have also seen--several times--where the ruckus is so much that the next person's name isn't heard clearly.
I'm OK with some cheering and clapping, but to disrupt the next person is ridiculous.

It's the last educational achievement these parents will get to celebrate with their kids so I guess I kind of see why they want to act rude as frick.

Yeah, I remember at my own I was subconsciously placing bets on the kids who had trashy enough families to cheer. I don't think any of them disappointed. Granted I graduated with 80 people so I knew all of them and their family environment pretty well.

It's HIGH SCHOOL...not that big of a deal. The irony is, that segment of society that should truly cherish this somewhat minor accomplishment, is the same one that typically ruins it.

We need a "black people cheered at a graduation" board.
This was the talk of the town?

There are three high schools in the County. Apparently it gets worse and worse in levels depending on which one of the three schools it is.

Damn Jews and eastern Indians can get really trashy at those things.

Yeah, Oxford has two: Oxford and Lafayette. It's shockingly is to tell which person graduated from which high school. The accents are completely different, despite only growing up like 10 miles apart.

I walked when I graduated college. A guy from a black fraternity wearing his letters on his hat was walking in front of me. He was wearing these huge boots that he spray painted gold. Well he walks up to the stage and he gets his name called and he jumps onto the stage, stomps his boots as loud as he can, and does some ridiculous yell and chant, all making a fool of himself. The dean and the notable professor handing out diplomas and shaking hands for pictures turned bright red in shock. And the black assistant dean that gave a speech right before was shaking his head in disgust

My Cousin's husband said the exact same thing yesterday. (Their son graduated at one of the other schools in the County).

America has lost its spine. It can no longer stand up to the bullshite fringe groups he'll bent on destroying it. Frivolous lawsuits handcuffed and handicapped our country.

Society is broken.
It is beyond repair.
Everyone wants rights without responsibility.

Seriously, they are celebrating finishing fricking high school. Sad
