I know it's like do what we say or you can deliver pizzas for a living. Don't give a frick if you're good at your job or not

Bunch of judgmental fricks in here. As if you've never done this...
Learned my lesson years ago but the truth is DUIs are more about revenue for the state than they are about "safety." DUI checkpoints are proof of that.

so yea not a ton of jobs
and the people who have jobs like this know the deal. like some others said about the medical field, they make you go to some bullshite classes to make it look good.

According to this he should have blown unless he drank them in less than 1 hour and weighs less than 155 lbs. 4 beers for me in 1 hour is .049

I think the biggest risk is getting the DUI and not reporting it for jobs that are closely dependent on your license and/or driving record.

Routinely text and drive or something of the sort, which is equally as dangerous on the road.
I have a habit of checking out how many drivers are texting while they drive. It's really easy to tell and I'd say at least half are. Traffic fatalities have gone up as a result after decades of going down.
Worst is seeing these people texting on the damn highway. Terrifying. I hate driving any more.

Honestly if you didn't blow, if you get a good lawyer you can probably get it reduced. It may cost you, but it may be worth not having on your record.

I love going 75mph on the interstate with a car bearing down on me and when they pass me, theyre going 80 with their heads in their phone

Why not just blow? If refusing gets you the DWI, then roll the dice and blow. What you got to lose?
Refusing gets you arrested for the DUI (and also gets your license suspended for a certain amount of time after an administrative hearing). You have a better shot of beating the DUI in court if you don't blow, thereby avoiding a DUI conviction.
People get DUI convictions all the time that refused to blow, but it makes it harder for the state to prove. If you do blow over the limit, it is almost impossible to beat the charge.
Basically, don't blow unless you are 100 percent sure you will blow a 0.00.
Easiest way to avoid a DUI though is to use uber.

It is more than classes. Like I said...I've known nurses that had to check themselves into expensive rehab programs and stay there for I wanna say a week or so to fight to keep their license. Over a DUI.

I remember seeing an older lady in an old tahoe texting while driving on I-12

you also live in a nazi dwi state.
im generally speaking LA here. In LA, DWIs are a money grab. It has very little to do with safety.

This nurse was a nurse I used to work with at OLOL in BR
ETA: Substance/alcohol abuse is a huge problem with nurses. So the state nursing associations want the nurses to have a way to keep their license and get help. But they will make you jump through a million hoops to do it. Some nurses will just say "frick it" and surrender their license cause their addiction is more important to them.

This thread is scaring me though. I'm gonna be like Lith and start Ubering more now.
Normally if I go to happy hour with gfs....I only have 2 drinks max (and only if I'm gonna be there at least a couple hours) and always eat a large meal with it.

There needs to be stricter penalties for texting and driving imo.
People know how dangerous it is...but keep doing it.
I cared for a child last year. Her dad was driving his family home one evening. Was less than a mile away from their house and was texting on his phone and accidentally ran a red light. Child I cared for is now permanently paralyzed from the waist down and nearly died because he was texting while driving. Now the father has to live the rest of his life knowing that choice forever changed his daughter's life.
