Hey Tidal. We had a micro storm come through yesterday. It was stronger than any hurricane I have been through here, except Irma. I was here in 2004 for the 4 hurricanes in a month.
It only lasted about 2 minutes but sent a stick through a screen, and took down some 6" limbs. I have never sustained screen damage to my lanai until yesterday. This morning will be spent picking up and chain sawing debris.
Good times.

We had one here yesterday. Not to bad and got about 1/2" of needed rain.

Hey Fish. It rained 1/2", sideways in about 30 seconds. It blew a duck out of a tree and he sat there, on the ground, for about 10 minutes after it quit raining. He was beat up and confused.

Definitely not a wood duck. They have an orange beak and legs, a few browns on them and some white. Instead of quacking, they squeak really loud, when flying, and perched.
I have a neighbor that feeds them. They sit on his roof and squeal for him to come out. Hundreds of them.

Oh, those ducks are Mexican Tree wood ducks. Very good to eat, so I was told.

They nest in trees.Fly around in residential neighborhoods in the spring and summer.Males ar really colorful.Hens are brown with a few markings.

That's your common Wood Duck that migrates thru and gets shot at during hunting season.
The normal answer here would be to start a rouge(sp).
Out of season and mating.
eta: Wood Ducks make a high pitched noise that sounds kind of like."Deeeeeet..Deeeeeeeet..Deeeeeeet"
They nest 20-30 ft up in a tree.And they kick the ducklings out at the appropriate time.Have y'all never seen them?

BB, I do have a HC plates on my truck and car. When I am up to it, I don't use it. The more walking is better for me.
