I told my son and he didn’t believe me until he came home and saw a few feathers on the ground. I assume the Hawk gained consciousness and flew off.

I have a great big owl that sets up shop in the woods behind my house every couple of years. It hangs around until it gets the squirrel population thinned out and then disappears until they recover. Just glad it’s not that owl we know from Houston.

That could have been my little Cup Cake.
Hawks are weird. My son would go in the back yard with a rod and shiny lure and they would swoop down and try and catch it.

You have to keep an eye on them sons a bitches if you see them around. If you have a puppy or small animal, especially if they have a shiny tag on their collar because they will swoop down and try to get it. Had one try to go after one of my dogs when he was a puppy. I was at the picnic table in my backyard and my dog was out in the yard and I saw the hawk coming down and I grabbed something and threw it in the yard and yelled to spook him.. But I wanted to kill that son of a bitch.
