I agree that you have someone who seems to be an authoritative source who says it can be controlled to a degree, so I will accept the possibility that it can be. However, we are still talking about something that is a reflex and comparatively brief, so the opportunities to practice modifying a sneeze aren't the same as the opportunities for modifying your voice, which is voluntary and can be practiced at will. So if someone wanted me to modify the way I sneeze, I'm not sure how I'd go about doing it. What would you recommend?

A friend of mine would actually kind of say ahh choooo while sneezing. I thought she was fricking around but that's how she really sneezed. She would prolong the chooo part also.
