The FireTV is cheaper and I think it's more user friendly.

I've got 3 Rokus. They're good but the remotes are fricking garbage. They either run through batteries too fast or just quit working. I use the Roku remote app on my phone now.

I like the firestick. I replaced my chromecast on my outside TV with a firestick and like it better than chromecast.

if it's for your main viewing tv, i'd agree. i got a free firestick when i bought slingtv and use it on the bedroom tv. does fine for that. otherwise, get the box.

white people still go to blue bayou?

This past weekend was unusually full of middle class white folks much like myself. Like dads with LSU ball caps on who look like alumni and so on.

to be completely objective, it really is 50/50 most weekends.
There are occasions when we will leave earlier than planned b/c, while not physically dangerous, it gets to be 'not fun'. Typically when 3 or more bus loads of underprivileged urban youth show up. It's great that the churches in their communities put these outings together for them.
But I wish Haynes would organize it better for these groups to not all come on the same days. Some of these groups come from far as Jackson or Mobile.

These kids tend to be insanely excited to be there and don't have the same upbringing/manners as the average season pass holder. I concede that those days would send someone like Terd or Meauxjeaux2 or Fr33 running for the pastures of Northern Livingston parish.

Even I would be pissed if I picked one weekend to go and it fell on a day when 4-6 busloads of these kids show up.

But tldr : Most weekends, blue bayou is 40black/40white/10other

I've just heard rough reviews about the stick. I'd spend the extra money and buy the box over the stick.

This would be pretty much solely for watching sports. I don't watch much tv otherwise except Netflix or Amazon

IDK how you would be able to watch FOX/CBS (I don't think either have sports apps. CBS does have live streaming of SEC games on it's homepage). But you'll be able to get ESPN/ABC thru Amazon/Apple devices.

Yea. For my outside TV I didn't want to have to find a place to sit the box. I like that I just pull into the side of the TV and it's there. If it was on an inside TV, I'd use the box, but the TV is smart and I have my PS3 hooked up to it. No need. I have my chromecast sitting in a box right now.

abc, nbc, cbs, and fox are free over the air in better quality than cox. all he needs is an antenna.

i don't know the specifics of your set up, but get your ESPN subscription in order before you try using the watchespn app.

next time we can talk about Kodi, but you're not ready yet.
