I believe it but saying the witnesses are in the military doesn't give them more credibility than anyone else imo.

I think he thought baby-draw meant a babied 3 wood hit 278 yards. The dude meant a slight draw, but 278 is boomed for a 59 year old.

278 par 4? seems like just about everyone would be driving that in 1

Only on this forum does a statement like this go ignored.

I worked as a cart guy in college. Not kany balls around the 300 yard marker on the driving range.

I'd only pass out there every third or fourth week to pick up range balls.

yeah I didn't even see he was 59. Highly unlikely but hell I guess it could have been dry and downhill. The bottom line is the whole story is BS.

Regardless or age or anything, the guy is a +4 handicap

You don't get anywhere near there by being a slouch

It was a tournament at that. I lean towards believing him

It's just gotten to the point that it's not worth commenting on. You'll likely be downvoted and several posters will let you know how driving 300 isn't all that hard N1TRO baw blah blah blah

Yep so he isnt exactly shanking shite in the woods on one hole and getting crazy lucky the next. He's obviously hitting good shots.

Another reason I believe it. There aren't that many people in life that would be willing to pencil whip a round this much in a tournament.

Was playing with two guys last week. One of them destroys a drive. We shoot the tee box with the range finder @ 312. The other guy in our group says "Nice shot, I usually can get to 310-315 too." All while after he hit his second shot from his 225 yard drive.

There are a shitload of crazies in this world.

Just because it says he's a +4 doesn't mean he's legit. I've met plenty of people that are completely full of shite about their game and reverse sandbag their caps.

Golf is an individual game and attracts weird arse people.

I'm skeptical no matter what.

I pretty much got all of a drive yesterday on 11 at beaver creek

My gamegolf tracker measured it at 289.

Since I got the gamegolf, I have maybe 2 drives over 300 in about 40 rounds of golf.

It's pretty easy to tell the difference between a +4 and a scratch golfer

Have you ever played with Gayle Sanchez?

Also, it depends on the course, if their rating is jacked up it can turn a scratch into a plus. See Pelican Point from the blacks.

I held a cap at pelican easily 3 points lower than it should have been.

Anyway, It's possible, and he's got a lot of people backing him up in the article but I just can't shake my skepticism.

If he shot a 57 and said he was a 12 handicap I'd think something was up, him saying he is a 4 I think its more legit. Not to mention, why would you be a 12 and say you're a 4, that'd be stupid if you're playing in a tournament.
