Where do I start? Moved to AZ in 1987 and during the 1988 Open a co-worker says "Do you want to go to the Phoenix Open?" I tell him no, I hate golf and he explains that it's not just golf. I went and have gone every year since (it helps that I live only 10 minute from TPC). Legendary stories of my times going there and the joke goes that you will run into every ex-girfriend/wife there and it's pretty much true and the women are dressed for action. One year my brother was in town from WI for the event he sees women on the 17th hole walking across the fairway in stilettos and says "what's that all about?" We went in the Bird's Nest and he got it. In the early 1990's we were doing shots of tequila with some disheveled dude who was absolutely hammered and a girl goes "Who is the bum in the jean jacket?" It was Robin Yount, at the Bird's Nest solo and looking to party. It has become huge and much more corporate with more popular musical acts than they used to have since the early 90's but still a great time.

This year I have nice people staying at my house- five from Wiscosnin get in Wednesday, three from NC get in Thursday and a buddy from Newport Beach flies in Friday. We'll be in the Intel suite on the 16th Hole all day Saturday soaking up the action. It truly is a can't miss event, go if you can even if you just get the general admission tickets.

Probably won't happen but I'm gonna ask him if I can caddy on the 16th either Thursday or Friday.

Did you tell him about all the high dollar hookers that fly in from Vegas just for this event?

I'm not a golf person at all....but find this event a lot of fun every time I've gone.

If one of the musical at Bird's Nest is one you really, really like....you will not enjoy the concert as much as you thought you would. Too many drunks bumping into you the entire concert. Happened with me the time Weezer was playing there.
