Going Postal

Read a post about a shooting and it took place in a post office parking lot. Got me thinking about the saying "going postal."
Is this still a saying that is used?
Considering it was created from a string of workplace violence incidents between 1986-1996, it could be a completely out of date term.
If it's not used, has anything replaced it?

Yeah it's a bit out of date. We're all waiting with bated breath for the next string of murders to occur so we can coin a new phrase.

Any poster worth his salt could have made a better insult.

I went to Walmart the other day(I know trashy) and a postal lady was in there and one of the employees said something about going postal. The postal worker said oh no please don't say that.
