Is it like regular cooking oil? Like does it taste like cooking oil? Is it sweet?

I'm reading my diet and I can use coconut oil for cooking

It definitely tastes different than regular oil... you can taste the coconut. You get used to it after a while though.

I don't use it for everything. You have to figure out what works well with coconut oil b/c sometimes it makes things taste strange IMO. If I need something less coconut-y I'll use olive oil.

I actually grilled some fish a couple of nights ago and thought about pan frying some next time w/ almond flour and coconut oil. I'm going to try it w/ the next batch.

You just bread it with egg and almond flour?

I use it though just enough to lubricate the pan. I like it it and don't notice too much of a taste. They also have a spray.

Weird. I don't really find it tastes or smells like coconut.

I don't use it for cooking though...

Paige: It comes in a jar as a solid, and melts into an oil. Just FYI. Don't go looking for a bottle that looks like vegetable oil.

It's oil extracted from coconut... and you find it doesn't taste or smell like coconut?

You and Jones are some freaky mo-fos.

But I do find you can knock the coconut taste down a lot by adding a little olive oil or butter.

Good for peanut oil. But coconut oil tastes and smells like coconut... especially when heated.
