Same thing here, but it's ok, we are good people. I just think she is lacking and projects it on me/us. Aspy, lady, never sell yourself short. *hugs*

Thank you, Aspy. I am sure that we will figure out what to do with Mom. I want her to be able to make her own decisions for as long as it is possible. If that means she goes back to her home and has round the clock care, so be it. It would be a lot easier if she were up here though.
And I understand some of your frustrations with your Mom. I see it between my Mom and my sisters. There's something about Moms and daughters. I had my own problems with my parents. I was happy that I got to patch things up with my Dad before his death in 2003. My Mom is a staunchly Catholic woman. While she has accepted things that I never expected her to accept, her values are rooted in her Faith. We disagree on some of those values and beliefs, but I know I can never change her.
While it took me into my 50s to realize that I couldn't change her, our relationship became much easier when I realized that I simply would not argue those matters with her any further. I'm sure your Mom loves you a lot, sometimes what we don't get is their need to control. See how not arguing falling into arguing with her helps your relationship.
Sorry, I didn't mean to go psychologist on you. I'm not qualified and it's not my place.

I appreciate your honesty Iona. My parents didn't speak to me for two years, 19-21 because I didn't follow the rules. Now my dad and I get along, he doesn't care, but mom is still disappointed. It is hard to live your life honestly, and have a parent be disapproving. Again, I hope you find peace.

Moock, you are late to the "my mom doesn't love me" party!
Posted on 5/13/18 at 11:09 am to liz18lsu
Moock usually just wakes up at the end of the GMT to bid all the guys, Good Morning
Hmmmm.... Never the LLOTOT..... Hmmmmm

liz, it took me many, many years to get comfortable with my parents. Again, I am not qualified to psychoanalyze anyone, but I will tell you, based on my experience, that my relationship with my folks became much easier when I accepted that I could not change them and I will only change to the extent I am willing to do so. And not every argument is a "take me or leave me" situation. I used to see things in black and white, but for the past 15 years of so I see things in shades of gray. I need to pick my battles and compromise where I can.
The bottom line was always that despite our differences, we were always there for one another when the chips were down. That did a lot to repair things. I hope all can find the same.

LANGUAGE!
Iona, all you did was deliver the coup de grace. It was about over. You playing any golf?

LCA, yeah, that language is unacceptable. Mea culpa.
I have started to hit the range again. I haven't played 10 rounds since my shoulder surgery in August 2015. I need to reset my priorities.
Hope you and well and you are pampering Mrs. LCA on this Mother's Day.
