Technically yes. But we have no work and I was told I should probably look for something else. I expect to be laid off at the end of the month

Sorry to hear that brother.

I'm probably just gonna go back to school and finally get a real degree.

Good luck in your search for whatever you decide

I'd like to just go back to school but my wife is having number 4 in March. I have a few leads but it's mostly contract work, and I need insurance because of all the kids. Also a possibility of going to Kuwait which would not be ideal

Yea I don't have any kids. Need to shop for insurance though.my cobra runs out in sept. shite isn't cheap anyway. And my unemployment finally ends in two months. Had almost a year of it.

I refuse to go work in Middle East. frick those people. Would rather changes lifestyle and change careers. I understand that may not be an option for some

I was a DD, well planner, MWD, and have done sales. Think not having a bachelors really hurt me.

I was coordinating the last 5 years until this past August when they sent me back to the field. I could be a DD with minimal training but as you can imagine nobody wants to do that right now. I have a lot of contacts in the industry so I'm hoping to find something. If not I'll go to the plants in Lake Charles

I do have a piping design associates degree. Looking for a job in that while I decide the big picture.

I want to stay in south louisiana though. Lived last 4 years in northeast. It was fun but don't need the big pay check to make me happy.

Who were you working for up there? We used to have a shop up there but shut it down in 2013 I think. We were working for ADC, Leam, MS etc. Just doing third party MWD. But we have a directional side now, even if it is horribly managed.

One of the big 4. Got passed over for numerous office jobs in houston for kids straight out of school. I also should have kept my well planning job and not gone back to the field as a DD. Got lost in the numbers then. Drilled 8 wells in first two months without one issue last winter. I'll be honest I don't miss any of it. I was happy about the money I was making not what I was doing. The DDs they kept are all 10+ year guys and I had only worked 2 months this stint and was 4 years removed from a field position. So it doesn't bother me. They offered to send me to Middle East. Told them I would rather get laid off

So they did.
