After the weeks of rain a little over a month ago those damn pesky sugar ants have found their way into my home. For the past month or so I have been fighting them to try to get rid of them. I have read up on best ways to get rid of them and have been trying Boric Acid, but I still can't 100% get rid of them.

We are sweeping away thousands of dead ants multiple times a week, followed by mopping and then laying out more acid. It is killing them by the thousands, but they have millions. I had no idea ants came in search of water, but that seems to be what they are doing because they are mainly around the kitchen sink and in the bathroom. I tried to set "traps" of mixing the acid with some jelly inside the house and outside where I saw the trails.

The big problem seems to be they make their colonies under the soil, to where I can't figure out where exactly they are coming from. The hopes of the traps was the carry it back to the colony and then kill the entire army of those bastards. Doing this has provided some relief, but I want them 100% gone.

Anyone else have any suggestions to rid this problem, besides waiting till the summer is over?

Had major problems with them when it was raining bad in June. Got some amdro bait traps and put them in areas they were traveling. Took about 1-2 days and haven't seen a single one since.

It's not food they are getting into. Everything is cleaned up to where they are not able to enter to get into crumbs or anything. Like I said, they seem to be mainly going towards the areas with water (sink and bathroom).

Where did you get this from?

I also went to the feed store and talked to someone over there about it. They put me on to some stuff that I sprinkled outside. That helped for a few days, along with my acid inside, but they returned.

Don't have a single ant pile visible in the yard. Fire ants are non existent. I wouldn't have a problem if the damn sugar ants stayed outside, but having them in the house is a pain in the arse.

That ambro stuff looks similar to what I sprinkled outside. I can't remember if that was the name of it though.

I had them bad in Gainesville. So bad that I once poured the remainder of a Dr. Pepper down the drain, only to find them going in the drain by the hundreds the next day.

Basically, I couldn't do anything about it other than make sure things are clean and take care of them as soon as they start coming in. If you see a lose ant, make sure you kill it. Spray around the house, inside and out. The traps do more harm than good, imo. It attracts them before killing them.

I eventually found out they were using the pluming system to get in. They would crawl along the pipes and come out in the cracks near sinks and at the base of the toilets. Re-caulking helped significantly.

Best thing I've found is this Combat Gel/Bait.Looks like peanut butter the ants go to it and they go somewhere and die.

Not just somewhere, but back to the nest with "food". The poison kills the nest, key to getting of ants

Either you're lying or you don't know what's going on in your house. There's a food stash somewhere. Is your wife overweight? Could she possibly have some girl scout cookies stashed somewhere? You need to confront her about her lying to you in order to resolve this ant issue.
