You could donate it to the WWII museum. They would add it to their collection and might even put it on display.

Disregard the Russian lowballer. I'll give you $1000 for it.
I'm pretty sure my offer wasn't lowballing.

German World War II military swords frequently sell for less than $400 on eBay depending on their condition. There's one on there now with its sheath with a "Buy It Now" price of $350. How about I buy it and sell it to you for $1,000? Agreed??

Besides, I was referencing Mick's "$3.50" ("three-fiddy") reply regarding how much he'd take to sell the sword. You probably missed that.

That would be stupid. There are gobs and gobs of dress daggers out there and I'm sure the museum has all they would ever need to display. If they don't they could easily acquire for it for a very reasonable price. He should keep it and pass it down to any of his kids who would be interested in having it IMO.

We had a fellow collector who had been given a full auto Reising submachine gun by a WWII vet on his deathbed. The original owner never had it registered after the government passed the 1986 full auto weapons legislation so it was illegal for him to own. He took it out on the boat and ran a few magazines through it and called up the museum to make an anonymous donation. It's a damn shame he couldn't hold on to it.

Authentic daggers in reasonable condition should go for at least $600. That's where the market was over 10 years ago when we got ours. I'd be real skeptical of someone selling one for $350. Also, Ebay banned items with swastikas sometime ago from my recollection.
