Historically it's been a student section thing. Then it spread. Then "and beat the shite out of them" spread. "You suck" to "you suck, Cocks" (at a USCe game) to "you suck cock", etc, etc.
With that said, no idea if it's still happening. I haven't been to a game in person in a few years and you can't hear it on TV.
