Since when are coaches lumped in with intelligent folks? Most got into college for their brawn, not their brains. Quite a few got their jobs by taking chances during games.
I think a lot of head coaches have sensible wives that help them work their way to the top. They'd still be working for someone else, if not for the direction their wives give them.
