You watch your tongue. That man is an American treasure.

Nah, he's an a-hole and having spent time around the man, I can tell you he would probably be proud of the title.

lots of resumes afford that, I'm not sure if the "right" is the appropriate term, and arrogance? terrible trait, to use a current analogy, he was an analog man, trying to transition into a digital world, and it pissed him off that he couldn't keep playing with his old toys

That's not Old School.....that's Old a-hole. That shite is exactly what kept him out of the space program.

Do you know anything about our earliest astronauts? They all to a man had the same mentality. John Glenn might have been the only exception.

I have seen the movie, yes, but I have also been studying the early days of the space program for the last 20 years. The movie is fairly accurate to how they were - as is the book it is based on.

it's a great movie, but Yeager is a dick, he would be better suited for "Independence Day," a great fighter pilot in a certain window but he let him pass it by, too hung up on what he had done versus what he could progress to doing, bad trait, the pics of him being trotted up to the backseat of a fighter that breaks the sound barrier in a warm up exercise every morning, is kind of pathetic to me
