Funny, I read your post and think the same about you.
The fact that I'm so massively downvoted on this board makes me think I'm on the right track.

Or it could be that your posts are just laughably naive. No shock you think you're smarter than you are though

I'm definitely aware I'm an idiot. I just think most of you are dumber.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. Your posts in this thread certainly haven't demonstrated that.

So is it just a matter of "prioritizing" when a dozen eggs costs $6, $7 or $8? I suppose you would say one could choose to forego buying eggs, then what?
I need gas. I have to buy it to go about my daily life. I cannot go about my daily life without it, therefore, i will buy it regardless of the price. Now maybe i'll make an effort to not make unnecessary trips, but i rely on gas daily.
Don't compare gas to eggs.
No one needs eggs. You want eggs. I'm not ever going to pay $6 for a dozen eggs. We go through 18 eggs a week in my house usually. If they cost $8, we'd find something else to eat that wasn't overpriced, and there's always something else out there that's cheaper.
I don't have another option to get my kids to school and practice. i have to drive a car that uses gas, diesel in my case.,

Insert whatever food you find to be necessary and his point is still valid.

Uber, taxi, bus, carpool. You have lots of options that you choose not to use.

Good grief. I don’t know how some of you function in life.
Hint: eggs was just the real world example I used that most people would find relatable.
Every food item you consume is about to go up in price. Please retort how you don’t need food…

Uber/taxi for daily use

buses are for big cities. We don't all live in NYC.
trying thinking about the normal american that doens't live downtown in a major city.
carpooling would work just fine, and it's something that is done regardless of the price of gas.
There aren't reasonable alternatives for the average suburban american to driving a car with gas. It's part of our daily life, and always will be, and paying $3/gallon compared to $4/gallon doesn't really make that big of a difference when you drive less than 10k miles a year. You do realize that the difference to a person who drives 10k a year, and gets 25mpg on their vehicle, is $33/month extra at $4/g comapred to $3/g. You think the average suburban american really cares that much about that?

All good is getting more expensive. Literally all of it. Eggs was simply an example. He could have typed “insert food here” and his point would have remained the same. How are you not grasping that?

Uh, no it isn't. All costs are increasing. You don't have a point here.

Uber/taxi for daily use . I guess these uber/taxi's run on unicorn farts and not gas.
Cheaper than owning a car and paying for your own gas though.

I see public transportation in all sorts of weird rural areas. It won't b e convenient, but it is an option. But like I said, you CHOOSE to not use them.

If you're only driving 10k miles a year, you live somewhere where public transportation aboslutely is an option There is no consistency in your logic, which isn't surprising.

i didn't say i didn't need food. what I don't need is to buy that steak for $30/lb when there's a whole chicken right next to it for $1.29/lb. Would i rather the steak, of course, but i'm not paying that retarded price BECAUSE I HAVE OTHER REASONABLE ALTERNATIVES.
hell i could go buy a can of fricking tuna fish and a loaf of bread, buy fruits and veggies from a cheap market and be just fine every single day from a health standpoint, but that's not what i WANT to eat everyday, but if i had to, i could.
can you not see the difference here? or are you going to tell me that my can of tunafish is going to cost $.89 instead of .$69 and it's going to break the bank for me?

If you have to resort to not eating anything but the cheapest of the cheap foods because everything else is too expensive, yes, a 30% increase in price for that cheapest of the cheap foods will severely impact you.

You save a tremendous amount of money on gas with a Costco membership. It pays for itself. But frick, these lines have gotten out of control
