I was more amused by the thought that criminals have some kind of interdependent relationship where they help each other out with marks.

I've seen K9 units walking through the parking garage at Saints games that also mark the vehicles with small symbols or initials. I wouldn't exactly flip out over a mark that could've been on your window for weeks.
