Sucks after you get it pulled, will have to find the diet that works for you, highly recommend digestive enzymes for big/fatty meals.

I've never had my gallbladder removed and I dont know anyone that has had theirs removed. The surgery may hurt a lot but it is also possible it may not hurt as much.

It doesn't hurt really, just uncomfortable from the gas they expand you with. It just takes a good while for your digestive system to normalize. It took me around 6 months.

Were you able to eat anything you wanted or you watched your diet real close?

Greasy/fried foods will make you shite like a goose.

Limit fatty foods. Fried food made me shite for days after the surgery. The killer for me was caffeine. I love coffee but had to cut way back. Introduce more fiber in your diet.
It gets better after a few months as your body adapts, but it will always be an issue.
Don't get stuck driving in the middle of nowhere after a meal!

I was out of work for about 10 days w/laparoscopic. Hurt more than I expected.

The worst thing for me was raw vegetables/salads. A heavy, fatty meals will sit in your stomach for a long while, so I would keep that to a minimum. Just eat smaller meals that are lower in fat.

Had to have emergency surgery to get mine removed earlier this year. Still went home before midnight that day.
Pain wasn't bad at all ... but I thought I was having a heart attack before so that could just be relative relief for me.
I didn't shite for five days (and was actually worried I was going to have to go back to hospital), but then had the biggest shite of my life on the fifth day.
After that it took me about 4 months before I could eat whatever/whenever again. For me it didn't really matter what I ate; the first meal of the day would send me to the shitter within 10-15 minutes of eating. After those few months everything was all good and now I eat just like I did before the removal.
If you're having lots of pain then you should call your doctor, because mine wasn't really bad at all. Just my 2¢.

Had my lap choley on a Friday morning. Was home right after lunch. Worked the following Monday. No pain. Some people complain of diarrhea following. I never had that problem.

My wife just had hers taken out a couple weeks ago after she was admitted from the ER because of pancreatitis, about a week after she finished recovering from a complicated delivery.
Thank God for a low max out of pocket because we've racked up about 70k in the last month.

Had mine out last summer. The surgery was piece of cake. Very little pain. Didn't even use the pain meds. However, I don't think I have had a solid dump since. Very often it's pure liquid or rabbit pellets. Doesn't seem to matter what I eat. At least the pain is gone. I'm just resigned to the water hose dumps.
