I’m sorry to hear that but she sounds like a courageous woman. My SIL got married and moved across the country. Three weeks ago she was diagnosed with stage 4, triple negative that has moved to her liver. She’s highly optimistic and started chemo this past week. Haven’t asked any hard questions yet and just been relying on the info that is told to me. Trying to be there for them without being intrusive is a challenge in my mind as I’m not sure what I’d want if I was in their shoes.

Knowing you are in pain and feeling that pain compared to not knowing, well anything. You might want to rethink this one.
You've obviously never watched someone progress though Alzheimer's. The physical pain isn't there like cancer but their psychological pain is immense.
I'll never forget my grandfather sitting in his living room holding his face with his hands in despair and confusion after we convinced him for the 10th time that day that he, in fact, wasn't late for work as a mechanic for the railroad that he retired from 35 years prior.
Gimme cancer and load me up with painkillers over years of that.

You don’t like cancer huh?
If you had a dear loved one die from cancer and it just ripped out your soul because of all of the sadness it created when you saw them slowly fade away and die…. Maybe you’d be less cynical and sarcastic about it.
