Darrell's, Mazens, seafood palace, 121 bistro, calla, country club @ golden nugget...while the weather is nice, get a guided trip out of Big Lake or play some golf at the nugget or lauberge

So, you got nothing. Got it.

Got plenty. Just too early to start that argument.

Gotta eat at Darrrell's. The rest depends upon his interests.

Lauberge. The end.
Except the Golden Nugget is nice and has better food, pool, and clientele.

Eat at Darrell's (special with jalapeno mayo). Downtown has a few places that are pretty solid (Luna, ShaSha's, Pujo St. Cafe). If you're looking for seafood, Steamboat Bills on I-10 is good, albeit a bit overpriced. Mr. Bills and Seafood Palace are also good.
As mentioned, there are also restaurants at the casinos that are good.
As far as things to do, downtown has McFarlane's (Irish pub-type place), Heist (more upscale lounge), Luna Live (decent live music), OB's (if you go before the 21-year-olds show up). Other than that there are the normal college bars (Frosty Factory and Cowboys) and divey places (Cajun's Wharf, Bourbon St., etc.).
The casinos obviously also have their own entertainment stuff (bars, shows, pool areas, golf, etc.).
Keep away from MLK Boulevard and anything north of I-10 and you're generally in good shape.
