Speaking of Hope, I wonder if when people on here say they "hope" something happens, like "hey, I hope all is going well with you", if they do really in fact hope for that, or rather, or they just saying words. You know, like "yadda yadda hope yadda yadda".

I've always thought the word "hope" was a really powerful word in the English language, and was misused. I remember when I was a kid, I used to say, "hey, it's Christmas Day in less than a week, I hope Santa brings me something good". But did I really "hope"? I mean, I already believed it was going to happen, and had no doubt he would bring me Christmas gifts. I was a fanatic for baseball trading cards, and that was a pretty regular gift. Then, I would go do some of my homework that Ms. Broussard gave me in 10th grade English.

Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is that we seem to be misusing the English language. Not in that the grammar itself is wrong, but rather in using words like "hope", or "pray", when in reality, it's just something we kinda "want" or actually are already expecting.

Does anybody else have any "word" stories? Let's hear them.
