There's a way. All you have to do is scout out a place for a couple of days, hell hours probably, and figure out where the hole in the security is. It sucks that it's probably not that difficult at most places.
Luckily, most of these psychos are dumbasses
ETA: 30K posts. Unfortunately I'll be overshadowed by Nurse

Some are, some aren't. Pretty sure the guy that shot up the theater in Colorado planned for months and even sent a letter out saying he was going to do it a week before but the letter never made it.

What if everyone was injected with a microchip that could detect when a person was capable of such a thing and it alerted authorities and this person was maybe not detained but staked out. What if this microchip was perfect? Would you let your kids/grand kids be injected?

As someone who started a month after me and has me beat almost 30/1. I say congrats.

From time to time I had to work gate security at a navy base that also housed nuclear weapons. Right after 9/11 there were 100% vehicle checks (every vehicle in had to be checked). It was a nightmare... traffic backed up for hours with people trying to get on base. You can imagine that didn't last long.
During normal routine (even higher levels of security) they would put out a number. Let's say today's number is 4... that means you stop every 4th car and check it. That leaves 75% of vehicles entering base not being checked. Sometimes it might be 1 in 1 out... you check a car and as soon as it pulls off you grab the next one coming in.
Now that's a military base with nuclear weapons... so tell me how good security is going to be a a movie theater or Blue Bayou.
ETA - you did have 100% checks to access lower base where the weapons were housed.

Impressive huh? It's a good thing I didn't find this place a few years earlier. earlier. I used to sit in hotel rooms all day for days and weeks at a time by myself. I'd probably have SFP type numbers.

The only real solution is a microchip in every male when he reaches 13 yrs old.
Then if women start this shite or preteens, they get the chip too.
Now, we need that chip to get up to speed and work perfectly which means if you try and remove it, your head blows off. And if you dont' have a chip somehow, you are shocked remotely via cell towers ever 15 minutes like a dog collar. But people with chips are grounded somehow.

I did security at Norfolk Shipyard when they were refueling the Eisenhower after 9/11.

Then you should know that it's not all that difficult to get something past security.
I know one of the bases had a drill where a security contractor was sent to see how far he could get. He made it all the way to a submarine before anybody found out who he was... and I think even then it was only because he pulled out his credentials and told them what he was doing.

Indiana Jones stowed away on top of a U-Boat. Seems like he would have gotten a bit thirsty, cold and hungry on that trip.

Security there was pretty tight. You had to have a key card to get through a turnstile, then metal detectors. Then to get into secure areas where the nuclear fuel was you had to have a separate picture ID key card and each key card had its own code associated with it that you had to enter. Plus a platoon of Marines guarding the fuel.
But yes, I get what you're saying. If you really want to you can get past most security measures. That's why spending ungodly amounts of money on things like metal detectors at theaters is just a feel good measure

No doubt. Would that cause alot of layoffs around the world if such a thing existed and worked that well? Makes you wonder about those "there's a cure for cancer" and "there's a battery that will last forever" conspiracies.

What if your top 20 highest paid actors and actresses took a 20% paycut in their next 5 major motion pictures. Add the execs to that formula and I'm willing to bet that will cover a large portion of the costs right there for your name-brand theaters to implement some tighter security and detection.
