Free Fax Online/E-Mail Services...Which are the best?

I'm trying to help a technically challenged in-law realize that they can use things like eFax so they can send/receive faxes just like an e-mail. So with a simple portable scanner they can ditch their local phone service at home.
Does anyone use one of the free services like the one I mentioned that can give me a review? I use e-mail/scanning exclusively for both my regular job and side-hustle.

Thought about that. But to be honest, there are a lot more business types here (realtors and other self-employed, working-stiff types) than there are over there.
I was looking for real world reviews and not just folks who knew about the different services. I'd like to give them suggestions that are stable and proven by folks out there to be consistent. Hence my posting here and not there.
