So folks are realizing the infrastructure isn't available, it's not worth it, and charging actually cost money and their response to this is to...checks notes...go out and buy EVs?

Wasn't there a politician in New Orleans that said this about EV's?
"You may not be able to go on vacations like you used to."

It is simple, really. Those that would most benefit from an EV can't afford them. I'd drive one because of my daily commute, but in the long run I wouldn't be saving money due to up front cost and battery replacement.

battery replacement.

One of the more misunderstand inputs to everyones ROI calc. When do you think you'd need to replace the battery and how much do you think it'll cost when you do?

11 year old Tesla Model S cars are still selling for $30-35k, you're just making shite up right now and you've done exactly zero research. You're repeating shite you read on the OT that is factually incorrect.

I'm looking at a 2013 Model S on Manheim auction site right now that has an average wholesale on it pf 10,500.00 so I think you are full of it that they are retailing for 35k.

Just looked on auto trader at 23 results. The most expensive one was $29,995. It seems most at around $15k-$20k. So, yeah...bullshite.

Surprised it's that high. At 10 years old the batteries will need replacing soon, and that appears to be $20K plus.

That really depends on too many factors to make a judgement call. Just check the degradation the dash.

Telecom, upstream, midstream, downstream all pushed by the government at different times in their industry evolution.

Yeah anyone relying on charging at charging stations etc. Will quickly find out that it's just as expensive if not more expensive than filling up with gas.
I've had an EV for 4 years as well as an ICE vehicle in that same time.

I've never once paid more to charge than I did to tank up the ICE vehicle that gets gas a 1/4 of a tank.

To go a step further, the most I ever paid to charge in one sitting is $15. I've never once got a full or 3/4 tank of gas for $15 in that same time. So the most expensive possible charge is still cheaper than the cheapest possible filling up on gas encounter.

This is false.
