Do you mean like giving aspirin, not the outdated MONA you often see, to a chest pain patient who has four risk factors for CAD but whose troponin levels haven't come back or hasn't been in the cath lab? Perhaps these patients present like Covid-19 patients, other common causes have been ruled out, and have inflammatory and hepatic labs that are consistent with Covid-19, yet PCR testing is still negative. I'd presume them to be positive for the new corona virus as well. I do not understand the idea of many on TD that believe the medical response to Covid-19 is some grand conspiracy theory for some nebulous goal of increased government control.

The issue is staffing. We have quite a few providers that have caught COVID. If we get to Phase 4, we will need outside providers from NY/NJ/MA to fly in to help. Hopefully we don't get there.

Do you know anything about ICU capacity in the Houston Metro Area outside of the TMC? There are several hospitals outside of the TMC, as well as satellite locations of TMC hospitals, but I am not sure how many of them actually have ICUs. Or if those numbers are included in the TMC data.
That is a good question and point. I only know about the TMC numbers...you are correct.there are several hospitals in Katy, Sugarland, Clear Lake, Galveston that I am not sure about.
Roughly 50% of ICU beds in TMC are Covid patients. Here is a good graph

I think the medical community is boosting their numbers because the federal government is saving dollars in front of them. I have seen hospitals chase federal dollars on other matters.
There is one hell of a difference between an aspirin for potential heart attacks and what’s going on with The wuhan flu.
