I remember my grandma letting the vacuum salesman in when I was a kid. Looking back it’s so scary that it was normalized to let strangers into the house just because they claimed to be selling something interesting. Random people would also come by looking for yard work to do. She’d let them in to pay them afterward. It’s a miracle nothing bad ever happened. Those older folks were so trusting.
