Food Stamp abuse/misuse quote: It's pretty fricking common to take advantage of the gov't when you have a chance And there we have it folks, the crux of the problem.
But why should only the poor suffer because everyone does, or wants to do it?
When paying taxes, do you choose to pay the maximum you can; or do you try anything you can to pay less and keep more for yourself?
Waiters don't claim all their taxes, but we still tip them, are they less of a scumbag than the person buying crawfish with food stamps? They might be the same damn person.
You might tip your waiter, who doesn't claim that cash in his taxes, allowing him to get food stamps, allowing him to buy those crawfish.

Not claiming income is actually illegal. LEGALLY paying as little tax as possible is not.

Everyone doesn't, that's the point.

Your premise is flawed. You're comparing those that pay into the system with those that are strictly taking out. Paying less does not equal taking without putting in.

See above.
But as to my point about gruel, why would you be against it? Or rather, why do you feel it's the government's job to provide a luxury to able bodied people?

You think every person on food stamps is unemployed?
I don't think food with flavor is a fricking luxury.
I also know that not every person on food stamps is able bodied.
You want to punish the people who need because of the few who abuse. I'm not fully against what you're saying, I think you're taking it too far.
I'm for a time limit, a requirement to have or prove you are actively looking for a meaningful job.
I got a call when I worked in HR by a person wanting to use my name for their purpose to prove they were trying to get a job. But they weren't, they simply asked if we were hiring. I wouldn't allow that.

I think we should force people to wear color-coordinated clothes that correspond to what government entitlement programs they receive benefits from.

ok then
Make the gruel taste like bacon
shite you could make it taste like something different every day of the week
Market the shite out of it
Slap a fancy logo on the label and make a rap song about it

Good luck with this buddy, people can buy clothes with their EBT card in LA!

That's EBT Cash.
That's for anything that isn't food.
Like hygiene products, paper products, bleach and clothes.
Not every "EBT Food" user gets "EBT Cash".

The idea is that the government not allow our citizens to starve? Ok. Create a gruel with 100% of the requirements to sustain life. Make it tasteless. Sub-contract the mass production of it, which stimulates the economy like crazy.
Wait. How will eliminating a large chunk of customers stimulate the economy? Honest question.

How much money did your kwikemarts make off foodstamps bro?
Posted on 5/13/14 at 9:55 pm to Cosmo
I didn't take them.
I had turned in the paperwork but never finished it.
That was just 4-5 years ago and since then EBT has changed drastically what people can buy. It was a little more strict then which is why I was in no hurry to accept them. It really wouldn't have benefitted my store much with where it was located.
