WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WPEC) - A mauled Lake Worth man is healing from his wounds after he saved a little girl and many others from a vicious dog attack.
Vincent Johnson had to take matters into his own hands Saturday afternoon when he encountered a violent dog at the Okeeheelee Dog Park in West Palm Beach.
Johnson and other witnesses say the dog was a pit bull. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said Sunday a gray pit bull attacked several dogs, killing one, before attacking several people.
“I had one hand in the dog’s mouth while he had the other dog’s face and throat in its mouth,” Johnson said. After killing a Yorkie, the bloody dog then leaped for a child. That’s when Johnson stepped in.
With his 6-foot-7 frame, he felt like he was the only one in the park who could contain it. Johnson says the dog was about 90 pounds. “Fighting a dog like this would probably mean a finger or my neck or an eye," he said. "But a little girl’s life? You don’t really weigh that."
Somehow he managed to control the dog until Palm Beach County Fire Rescue came. However, he sustained deep cuts to his neck and hands. The dog is currently being held by Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control. Fire crews said the little girl did not have to be taken to the hospital.

If that was my daughter I'd make sure this man didn't have to pay for a beer for a while.

I don’t understand why people defend this violent trash breed of dog.

I can understand why you feel that way.
My first pit saved 4 little girls from drowning in the Sabine River in 1984 just my personal experience with the breed.
I would have killed that dog at the park in a matter of moments plain and simple.

Yep!
My son encountered a pit bull attacking his friend's dog at Woldenberg park a few years back. He had heard that jamming a stick up the dog's rear would make it let go. There was nothing nearby so he jammed his hand up the pit's arse. It let go. My son was uninjured.

I don’t understand why people live in trailers, smoke meth, and have neck tattoos either.
Trash is gonna trash.
