I'm not trying to argue or make this about religion.

I just dont understand how people like this even have children yet good people have issues

I think about this all the time at work. The amount of child abuse and neglect in this country is just horrible. So much that many child protection workers have wayyyy too many cases to deal with and kids slip through the cracks.

I know many that struggle to have a child, yet time and time again you hear of stuff like this and see trashy POS with huge families of healthy children that they just treat like garbage. Just so unfair.

Idk either. I'm a believer and I have faith but things like this makes me.question. I look at God as a loving father figure. How can anyone let that happen?

To hijack my own thread, the only way I can make sense of it is this higher power, whatever you want to call it, and if it actually exists, is running some kind of model or simulation for some reason we can't fathom. And what happens to each of us individually is irrelevant to him. As SGT Hartman said in Full Metal Jacket, "He plays his games, we play ours."

The concept of a loving god who cares about us and makes everything work together for good just doesn't fit the facts on the ground.

More than you can know.

It's like the story of Lazarus. He knew that He would raise him up, but he still mourned with the family.

Having faith isn't easy. Hearing these stories and trying to make sense of what's going on. This is why it's so easy for people to NOT believe.

My heart aches for that little boy. Been away from my son for over a week and I want to hold him so badly.

I wasn't either. I was just pointing out the other side of the struggle with regard to faith.

Does anyone know of a fund or trust set up for this poor child's proper burial.

He was given the gift of life and then had it taken away...he deserves a proper burial.

I saw a news conference with both sets of grandparents, who spearheaded the effort to find the child. They appear to be at least middle class. They knew what was up from the beginning with their no-account offspring. If I can extrapolate from that, these two people were from decent families who fell into the drug lifestyle and found each other, with disastrous consequences for their child.

TL;DR, I haven't seen a fund anywhere, but I don't think the extended families are destitute, so he will probably have a decent funeral.

With having a very young son myself, this one hits hard.
I big part of my heart needs to know that this child is resting in peace...
