I've considered going to an ent and getting tonsils checked and check my nose concerning deviated septum. Someone told the same exact thing you said. I will Def check into this further.

I gained weight after getting my CPAP. I was at 40 apnea per hour before treatment, and 2 after. Gained 15 lbs almost immediately.

I was having issues with sleep apnea, but have never seen a doctor about it. I bought a small fan that sits on my night stand and blows toward my face when I sleep. It seems to have solved the problem as far as I can tell. I don't wake up gasping for air anymore. Keeping the ceiling fan on also seems to help.

I have this mask, and highly recommend. Not uncomfortable, and nothing either over your face or up your nose. Phillips Dreamwear.

When you find the right mask, it will just click.
Took me a few but the one I use now is like nothings there. It covers my mouth and rests under my nose.

Sleep Apnea is not always the cause of weight. That’s a very misconception

I struggled hitting the times insurance required so it could be fully covered. (I would wear it when I was awake to hit them.) I needed the full face one and had all kinds of issues so I went a year or 2 without using the machine. 3 years ago I did another sleep study and surprisingly was able to make the noise mask work. New machine and the new mask did wonders.

Once you get used to it you will feel like shite if you don't wear it. I wake up gasping for air and discomfort in my chest if I fall asleep before putting it on. I have a hose holder which keeps the hose above me and lets me move around freely in my sleep.

agreed but it does contribute to weight gain because of the direct and indirect side effects of apnea....ask anyone who has suffered for years with severe sleep apnea and they will tell you that when the body is started of oxygen the appetite of said person is tremendously increased. I for one am more patient and not on edge now that I'm using my machine. My cravings aren't there like before, I'm not tired or exhausted. I've lost 4lbs in about 12 days simply by feeling more comfortable with life where as I didn't before without apnea therapy.

I stand corrected then cause I was referring to a person who may be 275lbs, 300lbs or 350lbs. I dont wanna lose 40lbs, at 200 or 195lbs I was always muscular cause I used to weight train often.. I dont look obese at 220 but I am according to my doctor. Anything else you wanna point out sir?

When I got mine, I was over 90 events per hour. Now I'm below 5. Still need to lose 50 more lbs.

Is there a way to determine if you have sleep apnea without getting tested for it? Are there any symptoms to look out for? I always feel tired, my nose is almost always stopped up during the night, and wake up to pee several times during the night. My wife said it has never sounded like I've struggled to breathe while sleeping. However, I've always wondered if I potentially had sleep apnea.
