Thank you for the feedback. Just as I figured-- wear it for a few weeks and then over it. If anyone wants to give it away, Im down to try it. I saw a few on amazon used for $10.

You have to have it on perfectly to get an accurate reading.

In other words, it cannot be worn like a regular watch. It must sit higher on the arm.

I wear my HR like a watch. I also have my BP taken 2x/week. The rate as recorded on the Fitbit is ALWAYS similar to my pulse reading on BP monitor.

If anyone would like extra charging cables for the Fitbit Charge, I have 2. I will give to whoever wants them. This is not for the HR model.

What's the benefit of knowing your heart rate throughout the day? I mean I can understand if you have a abnormal rate or something, but what use is your sedentary heart rate?

It's an advantage to know your heart rate if you are working out. That's the benefit of having a heart rate monitor built in to your fitness band.

When I first got my fitbit, I'd have said yes. Now, though.. It's just a toy, really. It's fun to see how many steps you've taken and your heart rate and whatnot, but there are much cheaper options for a pedometer and the other features aren't really useful, just cool.

Steady state HR is accurate with the Fitbit, it's when you fit HITT or interval training it's not accurate. It cannot go 0-100-0 accurately.
